Reconstruction of the Takoradi – Agona junction road and improved axle load control – Ghana

The Takoradi – Agona junction road project will be co-financed with the Government of Ghana to a total budget of US$32.27 million. The Danish contribution is a fixed amount of US$23.30 million, while Ghana has committed to pay for any additional cost, estimated at approximately US$8.96 million. The project road is a part of the Trans West African Coastal Highway linking the coastal strip and harbours with neighbouring countries and Ghanaian up-country areas and is a vital link for the export of primary and processed materials. Reconstruction is expected to be completed in 2014.
